Biography/ Professional summary
Junaed Ahmed is an alumnus of the 8th Batch of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sylhet Agricultural University. He completed his B.S. in Agriculture from Sylhet Agricultural University in 2019 and later earned his M.S. in Plant Pathology from the same university in 2022. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Plant and Environmental Sciences at Clemson University, USA, where he serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Plant and Environmental Sciences Department at the Edisto Research and Education Center, Blackville, South Carolina.
Working under Dr. Hehe Wang, Junaed’s doctoral research focuses on the sustainable management of bacterial spot and bacterial canker diseases in peach trees. His work explores new spray programs using biopesticides to manage diseases caused by Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni and Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae. His academic journey from SAU to Clemson reflects perseverance, research growth, and a strong commitment to plant pathology, plant bacteriology, biological control, and sustainable disease management in fruit crops.
