Biography/ Professional summary

Khalilur Rahman Faysal is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at Texas A&M University. His academic and professional journey brings together agricultural science, communication, leadership, and storytelling, shaped by more than a decade of experience in higher education, agricultural outreach, public relations, and media-based community engagement in Bangladesh.

Before joining Texas A&M University, Faysal served at Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh, including in the Public Relations and Publications Office and the Department of Agricultural Statistics. In these roles, he contributed to university communication, agricultural information sharing, innovation activities, publication management, and public outreach. His work has consistently focused on making agricultural knowledge more accessible, meaningful, and useful for students, researchers, farmers, and wider communities.

Beyond his university service, Faysal has founded and led several award-winning social, cultural, and media-based organizations that use storytelling, filmmaking, radio, journalism, and digital platforms to promote agricultural awareness, youth leadership, community empowerment, and social inclusion.

His research interests focus on science communication, agricultural communication, digital storytelling, and rural innovation systems. He is particularly interested in how narratives, media, and participatory communication can bridge the gap between science and society. Through his academic and professional work, Faysal seeks to advance inclusive, sustainable, and knowledge-driven agricultural systems that empower rural communities and strengthen public understanding of agriculture, science, and development.
