Biography/ Professional summary

Mahmuda Begum is an alumna of the 7th Batch of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sylhet Agricultural University. She completed her B.Sc. in Agriculture from SAU and later pursued higher studies in soil science through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program, including study at Ondokuz Mayıs University. Her academic journey reflects perseverance, self-belief, and the courage to continue despite early academic challenges and uncertainty.

Her research interests are connected to soil science, soil properties, acidic upland soils, soil spatial variability, organic amendments, and soil reclamation under alkaline and sodic conditions. She has contributed to research published in the Eurasian Journal of Soil Science and presented work related to soil improvement and plant nutrition. Her story is especially meaningful for students who may feel limited by grades or early setbacks; it shows that determination, persistence, and confidence can open international academic opportunities.
