Dr. Rasendra Talukder


Biography/ Professional summary
Dr. Rasendra Talukder is an alumnus of the 1st Batch of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sylhet Agricultural University. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Sylhet Agricultural University and has also taken leadership responsibility as a Departmental Chairman. He completed his Ph.D. from Universitat de Lleida, Spain, and has gained international academic and research experience through institutions including the University of Kentucky, USA, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Italy, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia.
His research focuses on soil science, tillage systems, crop sequences, soil hydraulic properties, water use efficiency, micronutrient management, heavy metal pollution, and sustainable crop production systems. His scholarly contributions include publications in internationally recognized journals such as Field Crops Research, Geoderma, Plant and Soil, and Soil and Tillage Research. His academic journey reflects a strong commitment to soil health, sustainable agriculture, international research collaboration, and higher education leadership.
